Headlight Fault

Featured Replies

For a while now iv'e had the headlight fault light on my 2009 superb with xenons. Its saying there's faults on both right and left dipped beams, however all the lights work fine.

In the past this fault has come up and I have fiddled with the connections and the fault has cleared. Iv'e tried clearing the fault with OBD eleven but it hasn't worked. Is there a way of clearing the faults or could there something causing the fault to stay on?

Thanks

You need to scan the car and gather the fault codes. Once you have the codes you can reference them here for self-diagnosis...

You might be limited in Jersey but see here for local VCDS members who might be able to help you scan the car...

A common fault with the Superb bi-xenon headlights is the controller, water ingress causes corrosion which affects their movement and results in the on-dash warnings.

Vanders, just out of interest are the xenons factory fitted or from a kit?

I have a OBD eleven I will post my results later.

I've checked before and I'm sure the only fault to do with the lights are to do with the washers because they dont work.

Problem solved. It was both parking lights that had gone.

But the dash warning made specific reference to the "dipped" headlights?

My Superb tells me exactly which function requires attention...
