Now it's running cold!!!!

Featured Replies

One problem after another with this car!

I had it running hot, which turned out to be a bust water pump. They fixed that, then 3 weeks later it has started running cold.

Only a sustained 80mph sees the temp settle out at 90C. A steady 60-70 mph sees the temp going from 60 to 80.

I drove 20 miles yesterday before the temp needle moved at all.

I know they changed the thermostat when they changed the water pump, so I guess that has to be the prime suspect. Is this fairly easy to get at?

If it is not the thermostat, what else could it be?

Reliable, my ****

It's probably quite reliable really - however as usual with cars, one part fails it takes another with it - it sure sounds like the thermostat has packed up, running hot for that long probably impacted that.

Might be worth pushing for a deal a little if they are going to charge you labour though :(

They changed the thermostat when they did the pump.

If it is faulty I don't see why I should pay anything. I do not know how long a repair is covered for.

Yeah definitely shouldn't have to pay, IIRC it's 3 months post-fitting but even if it was longer since they changed stuff I would hope they'd do it for free, even if they call it 'goodwill'.

Hope your dealer sorts you out though
