9th January, Four Years Ago...

Featured Replies

...I took delivery of Bismark, Brand New.

Those familiar with my posts know that once a year I give a simple update as to how my Skoda ownership experience has been.

So, the spec you can see below and the images are in the gallery.

To refresh previous years posts, I'm sure you all want / expect to see a list as long as your arm detailing all the woes of owning Bismarck.

Well...

Noisy fuel pump replaced under warranty shortly after taking delivery

Leaking Power Boot struts replaced under warranty at I guess about 2.5 years

Water pump replaced (Skoda met 50% of the cost) about 3 months ago.

And that really is it.

Aside from that she is a real trooper, 41k on the clock, true average fuel consumption of just under 45mpg and still very pleasant to drive. She routinely carts around my son and his buddies, plays taxi to the inlaws and ships dogs to and from charity events as well as Supermarket / Garden Center / Rubbish Tip duties.

Apart from the water pump issue (not really bad but needed doing) ,she has always inspired confidence, starts, stops and does everything in between really well, still very happy indeed.

Thats your lot, special mention to Station Garage at Broadbridge Heath who continue to go the extra mile and can't be recommended enough.

Hope a few of you might find this useful...

Glad its she's still going strong - mines had pretty much the same as your's done (just water pump and power struts) but the fuel pump does seem noise when cold (hmm...). Its got 94k on now, and similarly ships family, camping gear, bikes, and has saved us a van hire or removal van moving house (not too far).

Hows the paintwork standing up, its probably the biggest issue with mine with motorway miles, stone chips, swirls and being black (plus lack of my effort keeping on top of it).

Paint is fine, sure it's got a few stone chips but since a recent change in job location, I don't get to use MWays that much which I'm sure has contributed to its pretty decent appearance.

Must admit I've neglected her of late, filthy weather and a bad bout of man flu means she is far from looking her best, I will get round to giving her a good scrub next week sometime.
