I have 2 LED Lenser rechargeable torches which originally fitted into the cigarette lighter socket. Most modern cars these days have a slightly larger diameter socket (USA),standard for 12 volt power. The torches are a loose fit in the socket and so don't charge. There used to be adaptor sleeves which would narrow down the socket a millimetre or two to allow the torch to be a snug fit.

 

Anybody know of a source of these adapter sleeves?

 

I have found eBay and google offer a glimmer of hope only to dash them completely on the next click.

They were included with some versions of the Lenser torches but they have been discontinued. Your best bet would probably be a motorist discount type shop, our local ones have all sorts of stuff like this that you wouldn't know existed until you go and browse.

 

Our local motor factors are like Aladdin's cave, stuffed floor to ceiling with things you didn't know you needed until you go in.
