MK2 '63 Fabia 1.2 TSI

Recommended Posts

What power output is it, as advertised?  What you want?

Is there a spare wheel / jack /tools?

How it drives and brakes basically.

What do the brake discs on the front look like.

Have the wheels ever been off, and the brake fluid changer in 2016?

What was done, 2014,15,16 & 17, were there oil & filter changes done.

Has it had a Pollen Filter & Air filter change.

How are the Tyres, Wipers, Windscreen, all good, was there anything as an advisory at the MOT.

Budget for Service Items even with a Full Main Dealer Service History and low mileage,

especially with a FMDSH & a low mileage car.

If no service book get the information on servicing off the system and any warranty work from a Dealership or Skoda UK Customer Services.

A major problem with Fabias in that year were faulty inner steering rods, an acknowledged manufacturing fault which were changed foc under warranty.

Check this has been done.

Fault manifests itself when stood or manoeuvring slowly and turning the steering wheel lock to lock. Instead of turning smoothly, a juddering/stickiness is felt/heard through the steering wheel. Caused by failure of inner steering ball joint lubrication and ball joints seizing.

The 1.2 tsi early problems (turbo waste gate, chocolate camchain/tensioner and failing ignition leads/coils) are all fixed by 63, should be a good one. Just make sure oil is changed every 10k/1 year max as the camchain does not tolerate dirty oil very well.

Its also wise to check that the tiny plastic pcv valve in the cam cover is not broken and hanging off on the rubber hose attached to the air filter box.
