Hi all,

my 09 4x4 octavia is skidding on the slightest slippery surface, ice, greasy roundabouts; and when i press very hard on the brakes, all wheels lock and engine cuts out. 

 

I am going to bring it to 4x4 specialist. 

 

Any ideas?

Where are you located? There's members on here willing to plug in their VCDS and do you a diagnostic check. Useful to add location, model, engine, transmission stuff to your profile. Has the haldex 4x4 had its correct servicing and any recalls carried out?

Are you in northern hemisphere winter conditions, if so what tyres are you using, how much tread depth?

I guess if you brake VERY hard, eventually as you come to a halt the engine will stall unless you de-clutch...

Does the ABS braking do its shuddery thing when you brake on icy/part-icy surfaces?
