Dumbfounded i

Featured Replies

I ordered my karoq edition last week with a few extras, But the one that leaves me gobsmacked the most is having to ask for the scuff plates on the sills, I believe that no protection is on the sills and I always get dirt scratches on those that have been fitted to my last cars. Seat Atteca and VW Tiguan are factory fitted so why not Skoda.

I had to fit sill plates to my first Yeti as they weren’t standard. They’re only £70 hardly going to break the bank but I would imagine that a slightly cheaper aftermarket alternatives will appear soon.

No your right it’s not going to break the bank, I was just surprised really, especially on the top model that offers all other things as standard. But it’s my first skoda I’ve ever bought so it sounds the norm, mind you the salesman didn’t realise they are not  standard  fit either. But I’m still excited for delivery at the end of March.

Not so - both the Seat Ateca S and SE, and, the VW Tiguan S and SE sill plates are extra cost options - Skoda's @ £70 are cheaper than either Seat or VW.

Karman,

I would give these folk a call and ask them what they have planned. http://www.rearguards.co.uk/

There products are well used by members and of a high quality. Service is excellent, with them actually taking the trouble to send me a prototype version of the rear bumper protector when i wanted mine for the then newly introduced city version.

Arkaig,

To be fair I was looking at the excellence in the Seat and R line in the VW, but it’s no big deal just if I didn’t look in the price and specification booklet of Skoda I wouldn’t of known till I took delivery and would have been disappointed then as I tend to scuff my sills.

To eribamotters thanks for that I need rear bumper protection too because one reason I traded my beloved Leon in for a SUV is to get my dog in the boot and not take my back seat up. I will be getting the cover that comes over the bumper but I would like something more permanent.

I've had plenty of cars where they aren't fitted but as already said it's no big deal at £70.

Like you I've ordered an Edition and spec'd scuff plates which I believe are dealer fit anyway.

Out of curiosity what build week are you and did you buy from Pulman?

Yes I purchased it from Pulman but I was not given a definite build date other than end of March beginning of April or roughly 12 weeks. Salesman said he would be in touch and let me know when they receive notification of build date. I might be wrong but I think if you order extras they take longer for delivery then when ordeded without.
