BHP From Cold Air Intake

Featured Replies

Can any one roughly say how much BHP would increase (if any) if i fitted a CAI.

There seem to be so many to choose from. Some from 40 quid to 250. Quite like the Carbonio but not sure wat to go for. Any suggestions welcome.

Oh, car is Octavia vRS.

Thanks

Roughly? About zero.

The one to go for? ABD.

:)

Must admit to having mixed feels about CAI's.

Yep, they sound great and there seems to be more urgency about the engine once fitted.......but I feel they do tend to rob some of the top end.....maybe just me though.

Carbonio all the way! also makes ur DV really loud!

If you must get one of these go for the Carbonio.

you'd be mental not to get one

Well, it looks the best, sounds the best and costs the most - what more could you want?

Is that likely to be a concern for your engine though Des (robbing it of vital power)?

What's 3 BHP between friends.

Is one changing ones turbo as well.

I'd recommend the BMC one - about the £180 mark.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but can someone please furnish me with some websites who stock these intakes?

I only know of awesome-gti.co.uk

Thanks.

Just avoid any deep puddles (my only fear of having this kind of induction kit).

What's the power/flow limits of the standard induction/filter setup? Just wondering when it's actually needed to upgrade for power purposes.

they are around

i went for the Jabba kit mainly because at the time there was only 1 other owner that i knew of with the kit (i like to be different) and i knew a lot of development had gone into making the kit.

Hmmm....wonder who that could have been? ;)

if your after noise this filter doesnt let the side down either' date=' theres a lovely deep induction roar up to 2500rpm where the turbo noise and induction combine to a very satisfying sound, it also makes the recirc valve sound almost atmospheric (if thats your thing)...

:D[/quote']

You should hear it with the larger pipe required for the larger MAF. ;):D
