Help with stereo

Featured Replies

Recently bought a 04 vrs and it had a jvc head unit that was dying, including not keeping its memory when turned off, so changed it today and was expecting some monkey had chopped the wires to bits, but they are all intact, anyway put in new stereo and it won't keep its memory either, so obviously it's the car end that's causing it, is it in the loom somewhere or is there a fuse somewhere that needs sorting?

You need to swap the red and yellow wires when installing aftermarket head units because the connections are reversed on VAG cars. Memory will not work otherwise.

You will also need a signal booster for the radio if not already installed. Standard head units have it built in, aftermarket do not. There are different types of boosters to suit different aerial connections. For example PC5-90 and PC5-52.
