Looking forward to Monday..getting our Octavia Estate 1.4 se 150psi

 

I know it's the older engine..any pointers to look out for...fuel range etc. 

Depends on mileage & driving style, but I average around 42-44mpg with my 1.4 TSi with the DSG box. Don’t pay too much attention to the average mpg on the multifunction display - it’s quite optimistic.

Has that changed, as mine was very accurate and plenty of other people were saying the same. That was a diesel rather than petrol engine though.

May be diesel’s different but over 3 years the MFD in my Octy has displayed averages as high as 58mpg. The usual measure - miles covered divided by fuel in - has never gone above 46mpg.

Interesting. My TDI varied between 48 and 58 on a tank full depending on the type of driving I was doing, and there was rarely more than 1mpg discrepancy between MFD and calculated figures.

Well my last fill for our 1.4tsi calculated out as 5.33L/100 and the display showed 5.3l/100.

So no complaints but you do have to check as they are not always accurate
