Carphonewarehouse "redemption offer"

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My girlfriend is going to move from Pay As You Go, to a pay monthly phone. Carphonewarehouse has something call "redemption offer" available on many phones and tariff. What it says on the tin is that for example a £30pcm 12 months contract (i.e. 30*12), there is 9 months 1/2 price line rental "redemption offer" (i.e. 9*15 + 30*3). You still have to pay 30 pounds a month tho, but if I send the bill to carphonewarehouse at 4th, 8th and 12 Airtime Bill, they will send me back a cheque to cover the discount.

An example:

http://media.phonehouse.com/mediaserver/servlet/AssetServer?id=TMOB138354&ver=1&RD=YES

So here are some questions:

1 Anyone has/had experience with this "redemption offer"?

2 What sort of cheque they send back? a voucher/money cheque?

3 Any extra/unprint criteria has to meet in order to make the claim? e.g. used all free mintues

4 What sort of general things/trick I should aware of?

Some other general questions:

1 T-mobile & Orange both offer tariff that support Cross Network calls to be included in the free minutes. Is that really does what it says on the tin? or there is some other trick I should aware of?

Myself is using Pay As You Go for too many year, doesn't really know whats going on with current mobile network. :(

Thanks in advance.

Louis

1. Signed up to a similar offer in January, so as yet too early to tell if it works.

2. I've had cheques from CPW before for other things (price-matching handsets within 30 days, etc.) and they just send through a cheque. No hassle at all, hopefully this will be the same.

3. From the small print, there aren't any catches, except you have to remember to send the relevant air time bills back within a certain time.

4. Not really - so long as you're organised, it shouldn't be a problem!

1. Cross Network means just that, although there may be exclusions for "non-geographic" and non-mobile numbers (0845/0870/0800, etc.).

Rob.

I had one last year. Got all my cheques back no promlems. Got another this year and just sent off my 4th month bill.

The cheque is a normal one just bung it straight in the bank!

The only thing i would advise is made sure you keep all you bills sorted in order so you sent off the correct one and you have to send it off within 2 months.

Hope that helps

Thx for all the reply.

Just one more question. My GF is currently set eyes on Carphonewarehouse->vodafone 's offer on W800i

here is the traiff:

http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/commerce/servlet/gben-pd-ProductDisplay?S=90&PN=MONTHLY&filter_network=VOD&filter_partModel=SOEW800I&price=from%20Free&COLOUR=WHITE&STOCK_BAND=2

It does say the free mins are support X-Net.

However, in my understanding, if I order the same traiff from Vodafone website, I won't get X-Net:

http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.viewTariffDetails&GroupedProductsID=6007&TariffID=271&intHandsetID=295&variationID=232&showBorders=0

So whats going on here?

Thx

Word of advise ....go through the calendar and mark down when you can claim the money back ...or you will forget !!! it's what they rely on

It doesn't explicitly say on the Vodafone website whether the anytime minutes are cross-network or not - if in doubt, could be worth asking them. Or just buying from CPW... ;)
