Weekly wash method

Im fed up of taking out the pressure washer out of the shed, connecting it up and filling the snowfoam lance especially when the car just needs a quick wash

Will a hoselock hose pipe sprayer do the job or is it better to use the pressure washer?

IMO never good to use a pressure washer ever.

Maybe on HGV's, Offroaders, Agricultural vehicles and Heavy plant.   With cars wash carefully with what ever method.

Everyone uses a pressure washer.  I don't see why you wouldn't. Just don't put the nozzle right up against the paint and be sensible.

Depending on how dirty it is (if you're washing a protected car weekly then it shouldn't be too bad) you could try a citrux, wax/sealant safe prewash to clean the worst bits, then rinse off with the hose and do a two bucket hand wash. If the car has a good protection (Wax/sealant etc.) on it then you shouldn't need to do more than a simple maintenance wash every week or two.

That would work for me, werkly spruce up with a hose and once it gets mucky then ill get the powerwasher out

Everyone who washes the car weekly or monthly or folks that are into detailing, even the pro's use a jet-wash/pressure washer, as planehazza as mentioned above, its perfectly safe to use.

I have just purchased one of these to try out & seeing you can put snow foam or shampoo in it! then it should be ok for a weekly maintenance wash. (won't be no where near as good as a proper jet-wash snow foam) but will help out for a weekly or 2 week maintenance wash etc.

Because I was feeling exactly the same as you as regards to keep getting out the jet-wash etc...I haven't used it yet, just waiting for a decent sunny day.

Always good to use a pre-wash, especially if the car is proper dirty, even just on the lower half of the car, if even doing just a weekly wash (maintenance wash) something like TFR, snow-foam, alloy wheel cleaner & then the 2 bucket method.

Save the jet-wash/pressure washer for the times when you have to do a proper clean up (when you feel you have the time & when the car is really dirty)

Yep I will do, I watched this video on youtube & thought why not give it a try purely for the fact of a quick n easy process for a maintenance wash etc...

EDIT:

& definitely safer than using a local £5-£10 car wash place.

I have cars more than 15 year old with original paint, swirl and scratch free.

Of course pressure washers are perfectly safe to use carefully,

i was a spray painter, you can do pretty well out of those that use power washers not so well,

that is power washing not just a spray with a but of force.

I see lots daily hosing off with pressure road salt / grit at this time of year, then getting onto it with sponges and cringe.

I watch those with Snow foam all over those dirty cars as well then firing water at it.

A tap and hose and the correct end gives pressure enough for my needs.

& those without mains water might use a pressure water for ease.

Each to their own. I like warm water.

I now need a new hose as mine has plenty of holes now no point in fixing

What hoses are people using? Hozelock?

I was using a battered to death garden hose reel & had like 2 joints on it   but around 2 years ago I got one of these for £25.00 in Argos with attachments.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Karcher-Hose-Reel-with-25m-Flexible-Garden-hose-Wall-Mountable-Portable-26452810/182508029966?hash=item2a7e53880e:g:eboAAOSwWxNY29wt

I did buy this for the outside tap connector.

https://www.homebase.co.uk/hozelock-3-4-inch-outdoor-tap-connector_p046685

But this looks good for the money & comes with attachments.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hozelock-2412-Hose-Reel-Pipe-25m-Garden-Hose-With-Starter-Fittings-Jet-Spray-Gun/232659988366?epid=2256077555&hash=item362b9daf8e:g:fvYAAOSw0t1afbxx

So shop around & choose which one tickles your fancy, check the hose pipe its-self is made well, I only got the Karcher hose reel because it can go on the outside wall & not just left on the floor all the time, it is easily used from being installed on the wall & it matches by Karcher jet-wash etc.
