Bilstein B4 vs B6 whats different?

Featured Replies

I have a niggle that my insignia is getting flubbery ar$e.the kind your car gets when a damper or spring is starting get old and tired.

Also pretty sure the back drivers side is sitting a smidge lower than the other side.

So, ive had a quick 5min google.. bilstein is my likely choice, and on their website both b4 and b6 are available for my fat german lump.

So..

What the hecks the actual difference between all the different b# bilsteins?

Thanks!

B4 are oem replacemen parts. B6/8 are performance upgrades so stiffer.

Thanks much!

Would there be much of a difference going b6 from b4, on the basis of 4 being same as ex factory?

Are you sure it isn’t a broken coil spring......not all that uncommon.

Pretty sure a damper, it feels spongy and bouncy like the Octy's did when it was starting to die.

But im planning refreshing springs too anyway, may as well when going in there.

I would say yes. I’ve recently gone B8 (shorter version of B6) on my fabia and it’s a big improvement over the stock vRS ones.

The B6 and B8 dampers are monotube so a massive improvement over the B4.

Hi Damian,

Just had a little browse on your site for Bilstein B4's for my 65-plate VRS tdi combi, can't seem to find any on your site - when will you be getting them again and what price will they be up for?

TIA
