Hi, I am getting a really loud noise from the brakes on my Octavia vRS. This is only in reverse and is more pronounced on full left lock. The local garage has had the wheels off and can't find anything amiss. They did say that it has just had brand new discs and pads as they are absolutley mint with no wear whatsoever. This is not really bothering me but it is a little embarassing in car parks as everybody looks. I was just wondering if this is the norm on new pads & discs or if anyone else had any similar issues?

A common problem I'm affraid. If you do a search you will find many threads with ideas on how to cure this but Skoda still don't recognise this as common issue!.

Skoda do now recognise this problem, the second attempt at a fix (different pads) have been tested and will be available at dealers this month. This came from Skoda Customer Services.

Yep, the fix will indeed be with the dealers by the end of March- get yourself booked in!

Could we have a forum for "recall" work as people get wind of such things, putting it in a prominant position?

I spoke to customer services about this on Wed and they said a realistic date for this mod was still 6 - 8 weeks away. Mine has been like it since I bought in Nov and its really starting to p#ss me off.
