Electrical issue, help request

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

my Skoda Fabia 2011 is running, starts fine and goes but the electric windows, central locking and radio are all dead. Can’t open the boot. Seems an awful lot of stuff for just a fuse and I’ve checked the fuse box.

Has anyone had this problem and can offer advice please?

many thanks

50, 51 and 52 are radio and windows, windows are on separate fuses so you haven’t blown a single fuse.

what do you mean by checked the fuse box?

Sorry - I mean I checked a couple of fuses for the components anyway despite thinking it wouldn’t be the fuse as too many components affected and the fuses were ok.

sounds like the ig switched feed is dead, think there is a large fuse in the engine bay box for this.

There IS a fusebox on top of the battery and some fuseable links. These links can be unbolted and replaced by a half way decent tinkler...

I have no idea off hand if they relate to this issue but I can have a nosey in my Haynes manual if you wish.

had a quick squiz at the wireing diagram and it looks like it my be fuse FA6 this is one of the big ones in the engine bay, should be 30A

Thanks so much everyone. I took off the interior of the door and no flooding (as suggested on a google search) and also found some wires between the door and car body that were cut (stuck in door I guess) - however the wing mirrors have never worked via the switch so I suspect it could be that. Have checked fuse on dash but not engine so will have a look there next.

Really appreciate your help thanks.

Yeah, door wiring always a worthy suspect of window and mirror gremlins!
