Inspection on a Q16 Flexible Service Interval

Featured Replies

Sorry if this has been covered before.  I did read a previous post that covered inspection service but am still a bit confused how this relates to a Q16 Flexible Service.

I have recently purchased a two year old Superb 2.0Tdi DSG SE Business.  The seller carried out a long life service as the car was just over two years old.  They reset the service interval which now says I need a service in 2 years or 18K miles.  However, when reading the handbook, it talks about Inspections under the title "Flexible service interval Q16":-

Inspection Version 1 - After the first 30K km or 2 years, then every 30K km or every year

Inspection Version 2 - Every 15K km or every year

(I am not sure if my car is Version 1 or 2)

This seems to immediately put the oil services out of sync with the inspection services.  I would be tempted to get them to carry out inspection services during the oil services (e.g. approx. every 18K miles).   I'm not sure how other read this?

P.S.  This is a great car.  I would describe it as club class travel for the price of an economy seat.  I only hope it is as reliable as the Toyota Avensis which I have owned for the last six years.

Wait until the car tells you it wants a service.

30km is approx 18k miles

I've got the same car as you.  Bought it at the end of my 2 year lease I like it that much.

I've changed mine to fixed servicing after it running flexible up until its 2nd birthday.  Now I'm keeping it, for the sake of the cost of oil and a filter, I'd rather it was done annually.  It's maybe not necessary but I only do 8-10k a year so it's peace of mind.

On a fixed basis, it will get an oil change every year and a full service every two years.

4string,

just by interest, have you signed up to any of these Skoda servicing deals?

Hi

i have purchased the 2 year deal as the cost seemed reasonable for my new Superb. I have not had time to use it yet.
