Hello,

I recently bought a Fabia VRS 14 plate and it appears to only have had 2 services on the skoda app. I'm currently in contact with the garage to see if they did a service as the oil full as with everything else.

I'm trying to look into if I need to have the gearbox serviced as I have read you need the oil changing on the DSG but I'm unsure as to if I have a wet or dry one. How can I find this out please?

Sorry if I sound so dumb right now :(

Welcome.

No DSG oil service required, no oil change unless that is the free service campaign,

'34F7', 2010-2013 cars. some of them.

Your 2014 car might need a Service Campaign Software update, '34H5'  FREE.

but then the Dealership Employees should no which do and tell you.

PS

It should have had the Brake Fluid changed last year at 3 year old, then every 2 years, or at least the H2o content checked.

This year the Spark Plugs should be replaced.

& the Air Filter if not done / checked.  Pollen filter as well would be good.

I didn't purchase it from a Skoda dealer but I do have close to me that I was going to use for a service.

Ideally I wanted the fabia to be serviced at Skoda but when I have checked the information on MySkoda it appears the first owner before me has had it serviced at a local garage.

Do you have any kind of warranty?

How many miles on the car?

I would buy a Skoda Warranty after getting a Skoda Main Dealer Service.  Best check with Skoda on the Service Campaign. '34H5'.

http://skoda.co.uk/about-us/contact-us

Ask what they have on the System, for Skoda Servicing or any warranty work done.

ie, incase it had a new MCU for the DSG, so that you know.

I have a 6 month warranty that the garage I bought the car from has supplied.

The car has done 36,000 miles.

Ah ok, will do. Thank you :)

?

Never used it.  Other will know hopefully.

Ask Skoda UK Customer services what they have on the car on their system.

What mileages do the 2 services show as being done at?  Who did them, any invoices with the car?

The car can be on Fixed servicing and each 9,400 miles / 372 days, or Variable and 2 years / 18,500 miles.

Do not let anyone do a DSG oil change or tell you one is needed.

The first one was done at 16797 (Nov 2015) and the second one at 26295 (Dec 2016). They were both done at Marks Auto Services Ltd in Ripon. I can't find any invoices with the car.

I will contact them now and see what they reply with.

Oh ok, thank you you have been really helpful! It's much appreciated :)

So the car was on Variable Servicing from new. 2015.

Then maybe Fixed set at that service. 2016 one.

So if fixed needed serviced at 36,000, so now.  That is OK if the Long Life Service was used in 2016, or another service done in 2017.

Brake Fluid needs changed if no record of that done.

& the 4 spark plugs changed.  Be sure only people that know 1.4 TSI Twinchargers are doing that for you.

Many Mechanics say they change them all the time, odd how many get it wrong.

PS

It is a Dry  Twin Clutch 7 speed DSG, called a DQ200.
