Getting that sinking feeling!

Featured Replies

I Ordered my Kodiaq 5 seat edition model on the 26th January.

Since then the contact from the dealer has been very poor.

About a month after ordering I eventually was told that the build week was week 14.

I have repeatedly asked dealer for an official Skoda Document with the exact details of my order. But all I have been given is a document from the dealers system detailing the spec.

When I pointed out that this document doesn't show the Order No. Exterior or Interior colours required, the number of seats and was missing the Virtual Pedal from the option list. I was than sent a copy of the same document with the required info hand written on to it, and was assured that this is what the ordered was based on.

Yesterday I contacted Skoda though the Live Chat feature on their website and was told my actual Order No. and that the build week was still week 14. I then asked for a copy of a document showing the build spec to sent to me, this they agreed to do.

Today I received this email:

Dear Mr Bacik

Thank you for your recent contact via Live Chat.

Listed below are the options showing on your order:

        Driver alert system
        Rear side airbags
        Dynamic chassis control
        Tri-zone climate control
        Heated windscreen
        Electrically operated boot
3-spoke leather heated multi-function steering wheel
        Park assist
        Traffic sign recognition
Area view with rear LED lights
        Driver alert system
        Rear side airbags
        Dynamic chassis control
        Tri-zone climate control
        Heated windscreen
        Electrically operated boot

As you can see the last 6 items on the list are the same as the first and there is no mention of Colours or number of seats.

Am expecting to much?

I am very close to ringing the dealer and cancelling the order.

That’s terrible service from your dealer. I ordered mine on the 31st January and got a copy of the order there and then. I’ve also had updates every 7-10 days and am awaiting confirmation it’s been built sometime this week.

I would phone Skoda UK and express your concerns.

Email and Live Chat are great when you're not in much of a rush.

Time to pick up the phone and speak to a human at Skoda UK. Only then will the customer services representative get a feel for your frustration.

It's important to feedback otherwise things will never change.

What model have you ordered? It seems strange to list as an option the 'electronically operated boot', this isn't available as a stand-alone option.

The electric boot is standard on SE L and above, for the S and SE it is only available in conjunction with the virtual pedal if you also add keyless entry/start.

I opted for the virtual pedal as well, and on the order sheet it is listed as "electrically operated boot". I pointed this out a number of times, but was re-assured this is exactly the virtual pedal, price was matching as well.

Skoda do like to make life difficult, calling the 'virtual pedal' an 'electrically operated boot' is asking for trouble.

As long as the price on the order form was £185 then at least that gives you some hope it is the virtual pedal...

The factory options on my copy of the order form I signed were hand-written so open to the dealers interpretation I guess.
