Maxi Dot Info Display

Featured Replies

Proud new owner of a 2017 Fabia Estate in racing blue.

Having read the manual, I've got to grips with many of the available goodies in my new drive, especially like the Android Auto touch screen and the memory card music streaming function, which are both marvellous, although the start-stop feature has convinced me that I've somehow stalled the car a few times (until I realise it's deliberate).

My previous car displayed the total number of miles that could be achieved with the fuel load in the car and whilst this figure is available within the touchscreen, is there any way I can get it to permanently display within the Maxi Dot Information Display in one of the corners instead of what's currently there (bottom left would be best as I don't care about total miles covered)?

Any advice gratefully received as I've read the relevant section of manual and I can't figure out whether it's possible or not.

P.S. found an umbrella under the passenger seat whilst installing a retrofit armrest - any other hidden gems I've yet to locate?

Can't help with the maxidot thing but look for the little slots next to the back seat for plugging the seatbealt into when you fold them down. Keeps them out of the way.

There's also a little slot in the glove box lid for putting a bank card in (I use mine for a car wash loyalty card)

Hi - congrats on your new motor -

I think it's the "Range" figure you're looking for. While I don't find that figure to be terribly accurate, the mpg-achieved readouts seem to be very accurate.

There's a variety of data that displays in the centre of the MaxiDot. It's not possible however to put it in one of the corners.

Click the right-most button on the steering wheel and scroll with the right-wheel to select driving date (press the wheel to select) That will bring you to the various options there - Speed, Current MPG, Average MPG (again click wheel to cycle thru figures for "since start", "since refuel", "long-term"), Oil temp, Travel time (again click wheel for those three options), Average speed ( click wheel ditto), and Range.

Will look for the slot in the glove box lid tomorrow thanks Rick - do you know if there's any way of moving the rear seat belt base parts flush with the rear seats. My dog enjoys being driven chauffeur style whilst lounging across the back seats and I can already hear the moans of discomfort with those base units digging into her bony behind.

Dithane, yep 'range' is a much better description, I'll have a look at the various options on the centre section of the MaxiDot display. I've kept it on speed up to now as my previous car also had this and I've got used to glancing at the digital speedo rather than the speed gauge.

Range is based on last 20 minutes of driving

Ie when I get the car off the wife the range goes up as I'm driving it (she drives very eagerly )

I don't think you can fold the base parts away, stand to be corrected.

Most of the time I have the maxi dot set to mph readout. I use the speed readout and cruise controll in conjunction on the motorway as you can make minor speed adjustments by single clicks on the cruise controll I.e. one click per mph to keep a safe distance between myself and the vehicle in front Joe

Not sure on the maxi dot as I only really use it for the digital speedo but something else you should find is a 2in1 ice scraper and magnifier in the fuel filler flap.

I found the ice scraper when I first filled the tank although because it was green I thought it was a removable reminder that I should use unleaded - d'oh!

Joe, I can only dream about cruise control now - had it on my previous car but because I lived near the M25 for most of its life, I never really got to use it as there's little point when you're crawling along at 6 mph.

Range is one of the options for the main centre section of the Maxi-DOT. You can change what things appear in the Maxi-DOT in the settings in the 'Car' menu on the touchscreen. It might be that range isn't set as an option. You just have to scroll with the right-hand thumbwheel until you find it in the Maxi-DOT if it's activated.
