Alarm going off when I start the car

Hey,

Firstly, apologies if this question has been posted before, I've looked through a whole bunch of alarm posts on here but can't find anything matching.

I've had my 2005 Skoda Octavia for about 8 months and didn't even realise it had an alarm until yesterday.  I seem to have developed a fault where every time I start the car the alarm sounds and nothing I do (locking / unlocking etc) will make it stop, it just times out after about 30 seconds.

I phoned Skoda this morning but they couldn't really tell me anything and I'm waiting to hear back from my local dealership in case someone in the service department there might be able to offer some explanation.

Just wondered if anyone here has had a similar experience?
