Is it ok if only one of my tyres has a sealing gel?

Featured Replies

I’ve just had delivered a new Hankook Ventus Prime2 to replace one I destroyed during a puncture last summer. Despite going out of my way not to order one with SealGuard, thats what the ending up sending me.

The tyre is exactly the same as the others except it has a gel inside.

Does anyone know if its ok to just have just one of these tyres, or will I be horribly out of balance?

If the car feels and drives OK then it can not be horribly out of balance so no worry.

If not on the car already why not get the correct thing with no Selfseal?

It would be better putting on a pair unless the other tyres are very new.

Is the compound, tread exactly the same not just the size?

??

Is that you taking off your winter tyres/wheels and putting your summers back on now?

I won't be putting them in until another few weeks. Still snow and ice where I am.

Just wondering if I should send it back or avoid the hassle and stick with it.

I guess I could also just scrape out the gel.
