Skoda digital instrument panel

Featured Replies

Saw this on car show yesterday. Not sure if I like it. I think this is for Škoda SUV cars not for Octavia, Superb, Rapid & Fabia.

What do you guys think?

I think it - unsurprisingly - looks like a VW didgital instrument panel.

Pretty sure its Octavia bound as well. Isn’t it on the options list in the Czech Republic already?

Eventually this will be the standard dash for most of the VAG group cars. It’s already in a lot of VW’s and Seats, its now coming to Skoda’s.

Looks like it will be a €350 / £300 option when it becomes available here. Not sure if it will become available with the annual week 22 changes or will be held back to after the summer factory closure.

It’s available on the Octavia from MY19 which this year build week 31 onwards it’s a £450 option

I’m  hearing it will also be an option at a similar £450 on Kodiaq 2019 spec models.

Very nice. I wouldn't mind having that myself, although I imagine it would probably work out cheaper buying a new Octavia than trying to retrofit it to my MY14 Elegance!

My sister finally received her new Golf GTD the other week (9 months since order!) which came with the digital instruments, so naturally, I had a play...!

I have to say, I was extremely disappointed by it. Don't know if I was doing anything wrong, but there didn't seem to be the level of configurability I was expecting. You can basically only cycle through a number of screens which emphasised functions, eg. a nav-orientated screen, or an eco-orientated screen. These screens would put different data front-and-centre, but that was it.... Just a glorified maxidot, basically.

On a different note, the GTE Advance isn't particularly well specced - not even leather as standard. My 245 is better. The engine is entertaining though...
