2004 Octavia vrsCar has no power and judders when accelerating

Featured Replies

Hi guys n gals

I just brought a octavia vrs with with a fuel solenoid code being thrown up. When you accelerate hard the turbo trys to kick in but then it losses power and judders. So you have to accelerate slowly.

However after driving it around for 40ish miles the problem changed.

The car has a major loss of power and i have to have foot to floor to accelerate and when it does accelerate its very slow and judders slightly. If going up a hill it wont accelerate at all and if its a steep hill it will loss speed. In gears one and two it can accelerate quite quick but as soon as 3rd no power.

There is sometimes a smell of unburnt fuel and white smoke out the back and when starting from cold it needs revs for the engine to start.

Can anyone help me diagnosd it. I was thinking n75 value? Have checked coil packs but not 100 percent sure i could tell anyways.

Is that the only fault code being shown?

Since the problem changed i havnt been able to check. Would you know how much a garrange nirmally charges to use a vac?

Maybe £85 plus VAT at a Skoda / VW Main Dealers.

Best go to a local Independent VW Specialised, speak with the Technician / Mechanic and see what they charge, and then what might be the costs after that.
