Bodyshell geometry FL vs original

Featured Replies

So my new Yeti (SE L Outdoor 150 4x4 DSG, with ~3,000 miles on the clock) is due to arrive tomorrow, and I want to get it kitted out similarly to my old Elegance 140 4x4.  I know that the rear mudflaps are different on the FL, so I'm just going to get a complete new set rather than faff around trying to recover the front ones off the old car.

My old car also has the front and rear door inner sill protectors:

I can find what I think are the same items online eg here, but they're listed as being for the pre-FL only.  Are the door sills really significantly different between the pre and post facelift versions?  The ones I've found online which do claim to fit the FL all seem to be blingy chrome which I do not want.

Finally, I also have this boot lip protector on the old car:

I bought that from Superskoda.  It's still listed on their website here, but again they say it's for the pre-FL only.  They do list other designs which are described as fitting the FL but I don't like them as much.  Once again my question is: how much difference is there between the pre and post facelifts versions in this area?

The rear bumper is definitely different on the F/L. It is obviously painted instead of just bare black plastic but I can't say if the shape is different. I made my own protector with clear 3M film.

The door sills are the same shape for both Original and F/L models.

Having seen it 'in the flesh' I think I actually prefer the top face of the FL rear bumper - at least they've got rid of that moisture trap along the bottom edge of the tailgate (as evidenced in the photo of my car as a filthy strip inboard of the bumper protector).

Personal preference, but I do prefer a robust lump of plastic to the 3M film.  An acceptable-looking FL-compatible bumper protector has now been located and purchased via A Well-Known Auction Site.
