Superskoda Painted Grille Quality

Evening all, Did a lot of research on colour coding a grille myself, and decided to peel the chrome off of the one I bought to minimize the risk of big shiny stone chips. Did this, primered and painted it, and managed to sand through to primer when wet flatting the clearcoat. Gave it to a local bodyshop to sort out but they think it might be cheaper and easier to just buy a new grille, as they cannot use strippers on the plastic grille and will struggle to remove the old finish. 

 

Given the fact that peeling the chrome off one of these surrounds is a MASSIVE headache, I've been looking at buying one already colour coded from Superskoda. This one in particular http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/OCTAVIA-II/Octavia-II-Facelift-09-13-grille-frame-painted-in-MAGIC-BLACK-F9R

 

I looked at buying one before my disastrous attempt, but was concerned that it was merely a standard grille where the chrome had been keyed and sprayed over, and thus susceptible to showing the chrome finish through when chipped. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with, or knew of the quality of these? Any big chromey stone chips? 

 

Also, my paint code is 9910 Black Magic, but this grille is painted in F9R Black Magic. Is this the same colour? Logic suggests that it wouldn't be, but things like rattle cans and touch up kits list both codes on the packaging, suggesting that they are.
