Superb 170 4x4 est 2014. Hello all

Featured Replies

Hi all

I’m a new joiner but have had Skoda’s for years, need to ask advice ref the emissions recall

skoda have done it without my permission at a Dsg gearbox oil change.

i took my car to the Bristol dealer for the dsg and 4x4 oil change as part of the schedule, have collected the car and noticed the recall on the invoice.

My car is  completely different, very flat, no low down torque. I didn’t request this or want it done, Skoda didn’t ask they’ve just done it.

can it be returned to the previous settings?

or what can I do?

thanks

gareth

Welcome,

It can be returned to the previous setting but AIUI Škoda / VAG will not do this, you would need to go to a re-mapper to get it done.

Personally I would be pushing SUK for compensation to cover the costs as you were not informed they were going to do it.

Thankyou for that

feels like they have gone behind my back and completed work unauthorised (admittedly there was no cost)

my car is incomparable to how it was, no lo Down power or mid range

if I take it to a re mapper I’m sure skoda will be against that no doubt and it’s always been maintained at the main dealer.

How can they refuse to return it to its original condition after they changed its settings without authorisation??

thanks for your help

Hello welcome to the Skoda forum good to have you with us, if you go to Skoda UK click on owners you will see EA189 update click on that and then put your vin number in see if it's been done go from there.

No it’s been done Jed

its on my invoice

i took it in for dsg gearbox and 4x4 oil change and they have done it regardless

they didnt ask me

it runs like a pig now

it was a cracking car

now it’s completely different, its unusable

can they do that with out my agreement??

Can it be reversed??

i didnt want this

i wanted a gearbox oil change

Welcome to Briskoda, as Gizmo said there is a reverse fix for this, but I would be getting Skoda to compensate you so you can get the reverse fix.

I know bbc watchdog were investigating this that cars were running rough after this, but I would have thought the dealer would have told you this was done.

Not the first case we have heard of vag group doing it behind people’s backs!
