Wheel Cleaning

Featured Replies

Well after reading one or two threads here about cleaning the alloy wheels, I decided yesteday to give the car another wash even though it was bitterly cold,

Applied wonderwheels to alloys and then took it to Morrisons for their spray wash (good value for money 25p per minute - 15 minutes

Is metal polish a good idea on painted surfaces? I thought that was meant from chromes etc.

i thought that.

i use turtle wax wheel cleaner (bright green bottle) and that seems to do a decent job. it is quite strong... can take your breath if your down wind of the spray but i dont leave it to soak in for more than a few minutes before soaping the wheel off.

they do a spray on wax in the same coloured bottle, i've got some but havent ever used it to be honest... always forget by the time i've finished the car off.

The metal polysh of Meguiars is not abrasive but cleans those alloy wheels really clean.

Just washed the car again today and washing the alloys was a lot easier than previous, so I have again used the polysh (you don't need a lot of this - like all Meguiars products) and it keeps those alloys really nice and bright as well as protecting them.

I am very impressed with Meguiars products since I started using them just under a year ago and I would recommend then to anyone, I have not been disappointed with anything I have bought e.g cleaner wax, body scrub, plastic x, NXT wax, NXT protectorant, NXT metal polysh, endurance gel.

Their whole range does exactly what it is meant to do and the finish is excellent, I just wish I found their products years ago
