Over the past 2 weeks or so (that I've noticed) my Yeti 1.2 DSG has been playing up.

 

When it changes from 1st to 2nd, it free revs for 600rpm at least before it engages 2nd gear.

 

Is this normal? Or is this the start of major issues? I am still under warranty until July.

Your DSG has been playing up for a long time now has it not, had work done on it and various times checked out?

Best get it diagnosed properly and see if the MCU, Clutch Packs or both and get the Warranty Claim made.

True. Can I confirm that this is clutch slippage and is not supposed to happen?

You can not confirm anything until checked but sounds like clutch slip.  Faulty anyway.
