Check oil warning

Featured Replies

Hi

partner is driving down to London, orange check oil warning flashed up, had the 40 k main service and also auto box oil change, could this be the 4x4 diff oil? Only done 3 k since service

is a mk 3 scout

cheers

It should be the Engine Oil.

Did you check the oil level after the Service was done to see where it was cold, and at normal operating temp to see that it was filled correctly?

..........

Has your Haldex been done at 3 years or 40,000 miles?   That should not show as a check oil though.

Don't think the Haldex has been done? She's 80 miles from home so told her to keep an eye on the warning and pull over if it goes red, will have to call dealer tomorrow to ask to check it all out as she needs to drive 300 miles back up on Tuesday night,

I didn't check oil after service, more fool me then for trusting skoda dealer then

Leaving it to the red light, low oil pressure is too risky.

Can she not top up the oil at a filling station.  at least 0.5 litres.

If you open the bonnet for 30 seconds the Oil warning light goes out for 60 miles,

not good, the oil is still low.

& your Haldex needs serviced / oil changed.

Have spoken to her to go to services and check oil level, just going to google what oil engine it needs

Just be clear that it must be to VW 507,  so 5w 30 Full Synthetic Long Life oil,  nothing else.
