[SOLD] ARBs project: Neuspeed 25mm/28mm bars for mk1 Octavia vRS (mk4 Golf platform)

Featured Replies

I've just finished removing the fat Neuspeed front and rear ARBs from my mk1 Octavia vRS that I'm stripping. Just put them on eBay this evening to take advantage of the wider audience and cheaper final value fee promotion weekend. My cut, pasted and edited drivel is below.

The front bar is 25mm thick and the rear bar is 28mm thick and is adjustable by changing the mounting positions of the drop links.

Everything as removed from the car is included: front ARB, Superpro bushes and clamps; rear ARB, bushes, clamps, drop links and bolts. However, I am listing the bars as "for parts or not working" as they would suit someone with some time and prepared to put some effort into getting them top notch, rather than slinging them straight on their car and hoping for the best.

As can be seen in the pictures, the powdercoating is minging and there is plenty of rust, although the metal underneath is sound. The bars and rear brackets would ideally need blasting and re-powdercoating. It's the ideal time to colour change them to match your car or whatever. The front brackets are just standard VAG items from what I gather.

I would fit new front bushes, as they are looking a bit knackered. These are available from Superpro, part number SPF2593-25K. The drop links for the rear ARB have seized solid; how long they've been like that I've no idea, as I've been oblivious to it! Having rod ends under the car exposed to year-round use on the roads is just asking for long-term trouble, but that's the design of this bar. It should be easy enough to make up your own new drop links by buying appropriate rod ends and threaded bar.

New, the front bar is £260 and the rear bar is £340 from Awesome GTI, plus delivery. Asking price £200 the pair [SOLD]
