Removing Front Assist warning

Featured Replies

Fabia mk3 has Front Assist not Available warning when starting the car, not sure if the radar had been knocked at some point, it does not appear to be damaged and is secure

Reading on various VW/asudit forums many say it needs calibration (not cheap), although some say it cleared itself or can be removed via VCDS, one of the forum members had a loom for me and found it does come up the the error

1540 - Sensor for Automatic Distance Regulation; Incorrectly Positioned

But couldn't clear this and said it required a login code, anyone able to help ?

i am hoping to get rid of the car soon and would like to get this resolved.

Just for further info, it was me that tried to clear this. Thought basic settings would be the thing to try; but it needs a login code for that- does anyone have that?

The car is hopefully going this weekend, so if anyone can help with the login code for Module 13 ;)

For info: in the end it was simple. Had another look today. If you open module 13, and click "security access", VCDS gives you the login code in a popup. Enter that, go to basic settings, perform the alignment, clear the code and it's all done!

I did a big post on this on the Ross-tech forums as I had this problem come up after fitting an aftermarket device on the CAN. I found that the Radar unit had ever so slightly come out of one of the mountings, but was very hard to tell as still firm.

There is a reset option in VCDS, but it is best to then do a 30mile 60mph trip on straight roads to then allow the unit to properly calibrate itself as all the reset does is "zero" the learnt values....if after 30miles it still has a problem it will still disable the ACC & front assist....

What is the code to enter in module 13? The window with the password does not appear to me.

Are you using the latest version of VCDS, currently 18.9.0? If not then install it and try again.

My version is 17.1.3, and I can't update.

Try using genuine VCDS and not a clone...

If you want support for your clone, try the seller you purchased it from.
