Strong hoover advice

Featured Replies

Looking at getting a strong hoover, something like a wet and dry shop vac that will be strong enough to clean the garage floor and valet car seats

any recommendations from the pros?

For general DIY and car vacuuming I have a vax 6131. Its just your bog standard bagged cylinder vac which you can use for cleaning carpets as well and sucking up water. I think it was around £60 off amazon on sale.

It works very well, I do think bagged machines are the answer when your dealing with a lot of dust and rubble, It is very loud though so if i'm using it as a dust extractor for my saw or sander I wear ear plugs.

I have a George, but I bought a Titan one from Screwfix for £30, and I use it more than my George. Not had any problems with it so far, the hose is a bit brittle so watch out for that but for the money I think it's great.

Tbh i was put off by the titan brand but now that im hearing things about it ill have a look at it when i go

I've been using the 20l  Titan one for about 4 years for everything from cleaning up swarf from the lathe and mill, sucking out pond water, cleaning cars and with the tube on the outlet a blower to dry off cars etc. Its been really good, still going strong. the tube feels a bit 'low rent' but its been durable and not caused any problems at all.

I too agree with 'edwards' the vac is awesome. twice now I've used it to drain the washing machine when it's got blocked and the door won't open. I also use it blowing the snow and leaves off the driveway.
