Hey. I took the Scout to Halfords today to get the air con recharged as we brought it in Jan and noticed just lately the air con is not cold. But. When halfords attatched there stuff they said they can't re charge it as there is no gas left in the car.. is this going to be the case if I go elsewhere too?

Just did some work to my 4x4, had a hole in the condenser rad, it had been like that for a long while so there was certainly no gas in the system before I started the work. After replacing the the compressor, rad, dryer and pressure sensor, there definitely wasn't any gas in it.

Took it to my local garage and they vacuum tested the system to check for leaks first (sometimes garages purge it with nitrogen and pressure test it).

Probably Halfords couldn't be bothered to do it. 

All works perfectly now.
