Possible sump leak - warranty issue?

Featured Replies

I have an all component extended warranty on my Fabia VRS until July (07/07/2018).

Just had the service done and they say there is a possible leak from the sump. They want me to take the car back in two weeks, and the warranty will have expired by then.

Just to add that the car had a new engine 1.5 years ago too under warranty.

Can this issue be fixed under warranty, as they say it would be £195 to reseal?

Car passed the MOT, but I think it might be time to get rid of it.

Sorry i can not see what the report says on my chromebook.  even enlarged.

They should know by looking if it is leaking, the matter is raised before the warranty expires.

Warranty should cover it.

Valid Warranty now as they diagnosed the fault & then went for the look again in 2 weeks.

The Skoda / VW Replacement engine has a 2 year warranty on original parts,  but not if a Manufacturers Warranty replaced engine,

was it a 'New Base Engine' that was fitted?

If a single Penny was paid other than being covered under the Manufacturers Warranty covering the replacement engine the 2 years applies.

If the Manufacturers Warranty paid, that only lasted as long as the Manufacturers Warranty did.

EDIT.

Read what they say now.  Be sure that you have logged the Warranty Issue now / Monday.

as to that brake pad wear, i doubt wear is 80% & 70%, but that is what they say, someone must of measured,

odd so many measure the same on an advisory until you remove them and measure and not even 50% worn....

"based on national average."   re tyre wear, love that, are we talking 12,000 mile national average on average cars with average drivers or average Mk2 vRS Fabia.

What sh!te IMO.

Who did the Service / Report / MOT ?

The warranty on the replaced engine paper work says , the engine has a 2 year warranty. It was replaced September 2016, so that would mean it's covered until September 2018.

Also I paid £200 for an all component warranty that ends in July 2018.

It must be covered under one of those.

The MOT has an advisory on the tyre, that's all.

Your car is a 2013 isn't it?

So was the DSG one that needed and got the Service Campaign '34 F5',  Software Update, because some could leak?

Which dealership has done that report on your car?

& how many miles has the replacement engine done?

Oil leaking from anywhere on the engine eventually finds its way around the sump gasket. They've cleaned it and asked to check in a couple of weeks. See what they say before doing anything else.

I was told no updates regarding the gear box before. Car was registered Aug 2013.

Dealer is progress Skoda Letchworth.

I would ask Skoda UK CS to confirm in writing that the Service Campaign '34 H5' on some DQ200 2013-2015 is not required on your car. 'Software update'

(This has nothing to do with '34F7' . )

The dealership should know by the VIN, but just have Skoda confirm.
