2007 Fabia Tdi. Bought second hand, now had for 5+ years and a happy bunny - until now! Two years ago had stone in Condenser, so replaced by Dealer and working fine. Last year had pressure pipe leak so replaced and re-gassed etc. Earlier this year was travelling and switched it on, okay for 5 mins the changed from lovely cold air to practically same as outside temp(!). Had Dealer and another Garage both check for leaks, weight of gas etc. and they said it's fine (which I know isn't)'. It's in another Garage right now who are really intrigued, as pressure, weight etc is fine but compressor is not getting enough current to work correctly (they've bypassed control unit to establish that).  So replaced control unit, took it for a test drive and exactly the same happened - eg. okay for 5mins then back to warm air. Great guys at Garage who won't give up and they now think it may be a broken wire in the loom to the compressor, argh! Has anybody else had this problem? Any suggestions to help these guys? Oops is this posted in wrong section? If so, I apologise and ask if mods would kindly please move, thanks

wrong section?

Is the main fan coming on at all? If they pack up, the system runs for a while, then it turns itself off.  Does it get cold again after going warm, if you drive faster? (Say, 40-50MPH for a good few mins).
