Noisy Diff??

Hi All, 

im desperately trying to find the cause of my clicking/knocking noise when turning as my local VW specialist suggested the the steering rack may be at fault and while these seem to be common on the MK5 golf platform I want to rule everything else out first before I start changing the rack again! (Replaced it about 3 years ago with a brand new part due to some previous knocking issues)

whilst digging around I checked the CV joints etc and this noise seemed particularly offensive and I wanted to check in to see if anyone has heard it before, if it’s an issue or if it’s a normal noise. It definitely seems to be in the diff rather than CV joints.

Any help you guys can offer is greatly appreciated!
