new VRS auto-dimming internal mirror

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've been told that the internal mirror of my latest vrs is auto-dimming, even if it doesn't have the front photodiode button/led (as I had on my previous Elegance).

Well, it doesn't seem to me dimming and I can't see how it could if it has no diode to sense the light, unless it is semi-transparent.

More, I've been told that there is a rear button, onto the dimming mirror while I can't find any.

Of course the label with the options has been stripped of the boot and the service book is electronic, so no chance to get the original configuratio.

Can somebody post a pic or a link to the auto-dimming of a latest vrs?

TIA and sorry for long post and bad English...

There should be an on/off button under the mirror, a green light on the plastic surround on the front and if you put your finger on the rear of the mirror there should be a sensor

Not on the new ones. Mine doesn’t have the button or green light but it does dim.

Thanks for all the answers!

Really? That would be the case! Is your mirror like this one?

Thank you SC03OTT, so I can stop arguing on that with the renting company.. . now let's stick on the spare wheel they didn't put in the boot and on the double-face boot mat they "forgot" (what a mess of a renting company)

isn't there a "myskoda" where you can enter teh VIN and get the spec?

Thank you Bret, I've read there was one, now I can't find any

A good indication that a dimming mirror is fitted, is the lack of a manual dip lever on the underside. Doesn't look like one is present there, from the photo you e uploaded?

You're right Wardy!!

It seeems a stealth auto-dimming B)

All 3 mirrors are dimming.

On external ones you can see a border like 5mm on the mirror it does not dim. It is almost always visible.

During the night driving you can clearly see that mirrors are always partially dimmed (difference between border and mid).
