Windows rattle when fully open

Featured Replies

I think this is normal for the superb but i get the tinny rattle when my windows are open and the doors are closed. Glass rattling in a door never sounds reassuring.

I only open them to:

  • Let the hot air out when it has been parked
  • Collect / return car park tickets
  • Speak to Gendarmes who have stopped me
  • Can't really think of any others

Otherwise they are closed to keep out the fumes and the noise.

Coming on two years ownership now and never noticed it.

I have the windows and sunroof open quite frequently in the summer in preference to air conditioning.

I've only ever opened the windows to collect car park tickets.

The air con is on permanently and never had the need.

Haven't been stopped yet but the received wisdom in that situation is to get out of the car. It puts you on a more level footing with the person you are speaking to.

In the UK I would but where they carry guns I don't want to appear at all threatening - advice my brother was given by a Miami policeman when he got out when stopped.

Very true, that's why I don't live in the wild West.
