2009 TDI VRS Intermittant Injector issues - HELP!!!

Featured Replies

Good morning all, I hope you can help me! I don’t know what else to do and am now officially a desperate man!

I own a 2009 Octavia VRS (DSG) Diesel which I love to bits. It’s usually faultless and still a great looking car. The only problem I have is an intermittent issue with the injection system.

The car shows up a Engine Fault on the dash and completely kills the engine (not reassuring when traveling at motorway speeds). It sometimes will restart, sometimes not and has had to be recovered on more than one occasion.

The error code recorded is P2149 which indicates a power supply issue to Bank 2 of the injection valves.

So far to date after many expensive hours, the wiring between the injectors and the ECU (specifically bank 2) has been isolated from the loom and checked for breaks and continuity (all appears ok), the ECU (which was wet for some reason) has been sent off and fully inspected (again all in order).

No problems have been found, and once at the garage they can’t replicate the fault. Before the car was given back to me, I had the injectors from bank 1 swapped with those from bank 2 (see if the fault moves indicating an injector fault).

Last night after a long drive the fault reappeared, and once getting the car back to the garage we are still getting error  P2149.

I don’t want to trade the car in, and would love to get this fixed - any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

Long shot. Has the car been chipped/modified? Go back to standard see if it happens again.

The car hasn’t been remapped.

Ive got exactly the same problem with my mkIII Scout. Independent garage couldnt solve it and suggested I go to Main Dealer. They have said its faulty wiring and are currently replacing wiring, when I get it back I'll let you know exactly what they have done.
