Fabia mkII front bumper

Featured Replies

Hello all. I have a mk II fabia (late 2007). It recently got caught on a high kerb at the front, ripping off the plastic trim from under the front bumper as I reversed. Now the front bumper is clearly damaged and hanging down at the front, making such incidents likely to happen again. Anyone know if replacing this trim will help to lift and secure the bumper once again? I can't see clearly if it sits under or over the bumper on the underside of the car and can't find any photographs online of the front underside of the Fabia mkII. If this plan is a no-no, I'll replace the whole bumper. Anyone done this? Is it a difficult job? Thanks. s-l400.jpg.b45b16df040a41f61577bc9741bfb7f1.jpg

I think they sit partly in and partly over, if you see what I mean. They will be fiddly but not hard and will almost certainly help restore normal positioning, to some degree. This is as long as you have not really damaged the bumper. The issue with reversing away from the kerb, once snagged, is that the weight of the car will lower the front and raise the rear, as you engage the clutch so any touching of the bumper will be exacerbated by reversing off of it.

I have heard of people removing bumpers to change light bulbs and or to top up power steering reservoirs but it seems a pains-taking way of getting the result that can be achieved more efficiently!

I would genuinely recommend you get yourself a Haynes manual for this car as it will help here, most likely and in many other issue you may encounter. Worth the £20 outlay!

Hi mrgf, thank you, this is really helpful. I'll have a crack at the weekend. Thanks  again
