Dashboard rattle/vibration

Featured Replies

Hi, I’m having issues when going over uneven/bumpy roads, the back of the dash right below the window vibrates really bad. I fitted powerflex bushes and powerflex dogbone engine mount a while ago, and the engine mount caused the rattle in the first place so I took it out along with the bushes and replaced them back to standard. but the vibration still happens, Just wondering if it may have unclipped it. And help/info on what to do would be much appreciated. I’ll post video of what happens when it occurs.

Quite hard to distinguish but have you thought about completely emptying all the glove boxes/pockets etc so there is nothing loose to start with? Try slightly tightening up the passenger air bag and inner glovebox screws.

I have also discovered rattling can come from the airbox... It kind of bumps against the silver coloured module that sits directly behind at, on the bulkhead wall.

I am thinking of replacing the airbox rubber mounting fittings as mine does this a little. I wedged a bit of foam down there and it stopped for a bit. When it rattled again, I took a peek and discovered the foam had slipped down so I am confident that is or can be an issue of vibration!

Plus, it started after I loosened said box, when removing the battery tray, to check the power steering fluid!

I’m 100% sure it’s the the back part of the dash. I have another video where you can actually see it bouncing up and down. It is that nothing else because I’ve had everything out including air bag the full lot. Just need to know if there is some sort of clip/clips at the back somewhere that may have popped open.

If you look at SlickNicks post below, regarding climatronic climate control, you will see he removed hid whole dash to replace the blower motor. Might be worth messaging him to ask if he saw anything that may shed some light on your issue!

Right oki doke thanks for you help buddy :)

As an aside, I actually discovered My particular rattle was not actually the airbox hitting the silver module but actually rattling against what it must kind of stand on. It seemed to look like it was hitting the module but it just clears it but hits its own "Floor". It did however, stop doing this when I wedged foam between the box and the module so it would then not move so much. The foam keeps falling again, though so I need to rectify when I have the spare time.
