Sat Nav Failure

Featured Replies

#FRUSTRATED

In March 2018 the satnav on our Kodiaq failed completely.

Diagnostics undertaken by our dealer required escalation to Skoda.

6 visits (spending half day at a time) for diagnostics and a 5 day dealer provided hire car later and it is still not fixed and it has been a month since our last contact from either the dealer or Skoda directly. The dealer won't buy the unit as it has not been approved, Skoda won't approve purchase of the unit.

Skoda are saying the diagnostics have not been done in line with the warranty but their Tech department logged in and ran the tests themselves and created video plus they have had 6 sets of test results sent from the dealer.

Has anyone else had this experience and if so how did you break the deadlock between the dealer and Skoda?

The worst thing is the lack of service and contact about what is happening while each side blames the other for the delay.

We all have different levels of patience and deal with bad customer service accordingly.

It's fair to say I'd have been shouting down the phone at Skoda UK and making a scene in the dealer weeks ago.

Time to dig in and kick up a bigger fuss.

I think it’s time for a trip to the dealer on a Saturday and mention in a loud voice the issues you’ve been having. On the one occasion I had issues with a previous Audi, it was fixed that afternoon 8-) There’s nothing like salespeople seeing their potential sales walking out the door to focus their attention. Helps to wait for a reasonable amount of customers wandering or talking before speaking loudly.
