80k Service on Octy Tdi Estate

Featured Replies

Hi there,

my Octy is going to need an 80k service soon, and I'll need a timing belt change at this mileage.

I'm in East Anglia (Cambridge) and new to this area, so I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a decent place that I can trust to get the work done? Quite happy to travel to the right place... within reason!

Thanks in advance.

Hi Mate

I am sure that the cam belts are 60k on yours.

Have you just purchased the car?

But it is 60k

The 80k service is oil filter , pollon filter , fuel filter and air filter.

But I would check the service book.

If it has not been done then I would reccomend you get it done asap

Thanks Both,

I'm a little bit nervous about belt changes. The service interval does state an 80k change, but definitely better safe than sorry.

I have just bought the car, having driven vee dubs all my life. It's a great motor and is super clean, full main dealer service history. Very pleased so far. TaviaRS - can I ask what you paid for the belt change? I've been quoted £320, seems a bit steep, but maybe that's ok?

Thanks again and excuse the noobie questions(!)

Also really pleased to have found this site...

I paid a total of

Sorry

I thought it was the TDi so was the 90 or 110bhp

TaviaRS - that's a little more than I've been quoted, so I'll shut up and pay!

Sadly not! -

Jabba? Or there is a jolly good dealer near Bedford. PM DGW for details....

TDi belts are 80k from 08.2002>

Hi, i have an Octy 110TDi estate. The service book shows that the Cam belt was changed at 40K miles. But the dealer was telling me it needed changing at 60K miles. The car is coming up to 80K miles so i am wondering should it need another belt or will be OK for another 20K miles?

By the way, I was in Rugby a couple of weeks ago and had a ride in an Octy TDi Taxi. It had done 450K miles on the original engine!! Not bad going eh!!

Thanks for the replies

TaviaRS - thanks I'll get in touch with them.

tandk1234 - wow that's a lotta miles on the taxi!, bit confusing on the service intervals eh? Sounds like it was changed unneccessarily at the 60k? Going strictly by the book, it should be ok for another 20k, but I guess it's also down to inspection and making sure it's tensioned at the services... Which leads back to my OP - and trying to get a decent service on my motor. Mines also a 110, really pleased with it.

i bought my octy estate from ALS autos (skoda dealers) up at little downham, just outside Ely on the A10. i found them to be great, a nice little dealers in a village.

they came recomended by a mate in work, apparently a lot of the local farms have skoda pick ups, and get them serviced there.
