Skoda O2 fl. 2010,1.6tdi bord computer not working

Featured Replies

Hello gents and ladies,

i have been a long time lurker, and only now , at the end of my useless searches i have gathered the courage to join you.

The problem is like this, i'am not able to enter and scroll trough the bord computer on my Skoda. Car is second hand, i am the 3rd owner, the second owner did not bothered( he knew about the issue) and i can't trace the first owner ( not that he will be helpful)

Button on the lapms is working, for setting trip mileage, hour etc. Button for the tempomat is also working, yet i am not able to scroll trough the menu of the bord computer like below.

Any ideea what to check, fuses are OK, no issues on tester.

1st thing is to confirm which spec instrument cluster you have. The one shown is called the maxidot and was a cost option on most cars. Can you post a picture of your instrument cluster?

Your instrument cluster is not a maxidot like in the video that you have posted and it looks like your car has been retro fitted with a multi-function steering wheel. This will not operate the standard trip computer that you have. You need a wiper stalk with the switch in the end to allow you to scroll through the different read outs.

Could i please have the part number for that whiper blade with buttons

OK, looking through the spec list from the link above it appears that your steering wheel is factory fit and you have the standard trip computer. Does the thumb wheel on the right scroll through the trip computer options?

That list also shows PR-9Q2 Multi-function display/trip computer: Multi-function display/on-board computer with check control.

I believe this is for a factory fitted maxidot (at least it matches mine) so it's possible someone replaced the cluster with a cheaper non-maxidot at some point.

I have fiddled with the buttons on the right. Apparently the phone button works as i managed to connect the smartphone to the blootooth and also was able to end a call. Nothing appeared on the clocks unfortunately, like the pin to pair the skoda and the phone or anything.

Do you guys have any ideea with what should i start the investigation

There is no investigation needed...

You haven't got a maxidot cluster fitted so the buttons on the right hand side won't work with it and it cannot display the menus you showed earlier.

The only fix is to replace the cluster with a maxidot cluster and have the immobiliser and mileage matched by an autolocksmith.
