New silly GT4 challenge....

Featured Replies

Fastest Lap of the Ring in a Citroen 2CV - with any mods allowed. ;) I shall be having a go in a second - be back in about 1 hour. :D

PS: If it lets you get the customisable box, get that and extend the gears - should help a bit with top speed. :D

about 11 mins something iirc when i did it....try the model T ;)

Just done it in 10.18.886 :D

Extended the gearbox ratios out a fair bit to about "10" out of 25. It was just too long at the other end and the car wasn't even making it to the start line.... It just slowed down and started going backward.

However, liberal use of NOS and racing tyres, meant it could corner well and do an average 80mph/90mph and I even touched 102 on one long downhill bit. Unbelieveable really. 51bhp but weighing in at 450kg IIRC.

10'12.960. I used racing medium tyres and 35 shot of NOS. I had about 5 off's including the slowest tank slapper in the world - lol.

I recon i can use about 45 shot of nos which will help, and i can tweak the box to accelerate quicker, i am positive i can break 10 mins !

Watch this space :D

DAMN! :D

Time for me to have another go as well then. Might try extending the box out another couple of points for a couple of mph top whack ;) I ended up trying to reserve the NOS a bit in the beginning and ended up having leftovers at the end even after a 100% use down the long straight, :D

I'm sure 10 minutes can be broken too. ;)

Need to get me a copy of GT4, as I now have a PS2.

Is the Ring unlocked or do I have to be at a certain level? What about motors? Is it like GT3 where I have to earn them?

Help!

GT4 guru here. You earn money to buy cars and buy mods. However in arcade mode you can just choose anything. In this case, you need enough money won in races to buy a 2CV (not much :D) then a shedload to spend on mods. :)

The Ring I believe is just a circuit you can do free runs on in "World Circuits" - If its not there, just choose the 2CV in modded and do the 24 hour Nurburgring in Endurance races and have a crack there. :D

Edit: I have since managed a 10.06... went in a sandtrap toward the end which scuppered a sub 10 minute run. :( Found the best gearbox and NOS setup I think.

I may give it a go tonight ;)

Woo hoo - nearly as fast as Sabine in a van :D

Well, after last night, you now have 9:59 to beat. :P

I came onto the final straight with 8:37 on the clock and thought I was well in for a sub 10 minutes - only to find my slightly over extended gearbox could only muster 95 mph, instead of 100+. Meant my pace around the slow chicane at the end was "brisk" to say the leatt and I nos'd it over the line... just under 10 minutes.

Oh, and qualifying tyres are a must for fast cornering. ;)

Now everyone has 9.41 to beat

As a clue the following are essential

Custom gearbox, etended to about number 12 or 13

NOS - upped to approx 65/70 shot.

qualifying tyres. Makes for good carrying of speed through corners

Sport brakes - carry speed for longer

sport suspension - cornering performance.

Oh, and the usual engine mods like turbo etc to give 50+ bhp, and lighten the car right down.
