Aftermarket rear view camera issues (RCD330+ headunit)

Featured Replies

I've been trying to get my rear view camera up and running for the past few days, but I can't get my head around why it won't work

Currently using the below as a guide:

So I found some old speaker wire and ran it direct from the battery to the + and - wires from the "time delay box". Also come off the battery again for the "ACC power", just to rule out any issues with the fuse tap I'm using. Camera is a boot handle replacement job.

Engine on, put DSG into Reverse and the screen just does this:

I've tried using an old rear view camera without the time delay box, and I get the same issue.

Anyone got any tips on narrowing down the cause?

So I finally had some time to do some more checking.

Turns out the camera and the power supply wiring are fine, as I checked it on an older Joying head unit and it works fine

So it must either be the camera output loom that goes in the back of the RCD330, or the VCDS coding.

Anyone got any ideas?

It's always the stupid little things!

Turns out the Joying isn't bothered about the boot not being closed, but the RCD is. Boot was on the latch...closed it, and it works fine.

Then you have a different problem to the OP ;)

You might want to start by telling us exactly what you have fitted, what problem your facing and what you've tried...
