Went to asda to see their oil is reduced to £14 at the moment

Sounds a great price but don't just go by the viscosity... Check that it matches up to the VW number you need. Some need different to others so it might be great or you might be chucking a problem in to your engine!!!

They have 5w 40 FS to VW 502.   This is at this price just now.

Wonderful stuff for fixed service intervals in TSI's. 

 

   They also do 5w 30 FS LL to VW 504 / 507 f that is your bag.  Long life oil, short life VW engines...

But then if you have a TDI engine you need to VW507 00, so 5w 30 FS Long Life.

 

Unless the new ones, TSI or TDI's that might have left the factory with VW508 / 509.

Not required in older engines, pre WLTP test results.  Just used by VW Group to get the lower emissions & better MPG's under testing.
