Where has the 1.0l gone?

Featured Replies

I lease a 1.0l SE tech. Love it. Best all-round car I've ever had.

Managed a 51 mpg on a long run out last week.

Anyway, I was checking on skoda.co.uk for the 1.0 model and couldn't find it any more. In fact the new from price is 22.6k.

Was this a sneaky way to introduce a cheap model? And then ditch it.

The Spec of the WLTP Approved models has yet to appear.

The websites are not showing what MY19  models there will be to buy / lease. Yet people are told 'speak to the dealers' & 'the order books are open'.

Maybe more should be asking Dealership Employees, and then contacting Skoda UK Customer Services & asking WTF, they know nothing so why waste our time?

Where is the Skoda UK Brand Director Rod McLeod and his Senior Management team, on holiday or in hiding?

I wouldn't worry - its just the WLTP mess being sorted out still. In Ireland, the Karoq price list just shows 3 models available.

Only the 1.0 Tsi manual in petrol, or the 1.6d in manual or 7 speed DSG. That's it.

Skoda/VWG should be worried though as they are losing sales, including from me.

PCP is up on the Yeti early next year and the intention was to swap it for a petrol as I'm retiring and probably a Karoq. But due to the increasing delays in delivery and the unknowns over the MY2019 specs I'm not going to bother now.

I'm also not impressed with the interest rates on offer from VWG given the low base rate. To pay off the Yeti I've taken out a loan at 3.3% and will keep it for some time now especially with the uncertainty over Brexit as well.
