A Russian Rolls Royce

Featured Replies

It's one thing to 'take on' Rolls but to do it my making an ugly near clone of tbh not the prettiest car they've ever made seems farcical.

"Russian Trade Minister Denis Manturov has said that state officials would be able to switch to Aurus vehicles when enough of them became available" may say a lot about the actual likely market?

There’s that small matter of credibility to start with.

Jeez. the BMW built Rollers are all ugly as sin anyway but the Russian and Chinese clones are just awful. Nothing they've built since the Silver Seraph should actually be allowed in public unless appearing in Marvel comic or movie.

I guess stuffy and stately takes priority over smooth sophistication.

Might as well have named them ZiL not Aurus.

I think they look more sci-fi / retro mish-mash than stuffy and stately.  When the first BMW Phantom VII came out It put me in mind of:

a. The Batmobile

b. Those huge 30's black sedans from James Cagney era gangster movies.

Neither are anywhere near my idea of a Rolls Royce. I saw a Kellner bodied 20/25 the other week (Old English White with tan leather) that was unusually sporting for a Royce but still recognisably the real thing.

The BMW ones are too outlandish for me.

Bully and brutal are the words that come to mind.

If Putin tells you that you can buy one, or you will buy one, or here is one i am giving you it would be bad manners to say thank you but no thank you....

Are those cushions not the same as Nigel Farage MEP and Donald Trump have in their offices?
