Downpipe

Featured Replies

I have a catback, revo intake and i have been considering getting a downpipe. Is it worth it?

I had a sports cat downpipe fitted and found that the lambda sensor light came on. Basically because sports cat need to get hotter than vag one to eliminate the light. So as I didn't want wait Ive had the sensor mapped out. Knowing this I would saved money by not having a sports cat fitted. But have emissions checked , to see if still in limit, then have warning mapped out, if not in limit have sport cat fitted then warning mapped out.

Thanks for the info.

In terms of power gains, is there much if any at all?

Car was remapped from 86 to 122 hp then had catback fitted with negible difference except fuel consumption improved. The difference came with the sport cat downpipe , I also changed the air filter to a pipercross , and it increased to 142hp.
